IX.3.8 Pompeii, on left. April 2019. Entrance doorway on east side of Via Stabiana.
According to Eschebach, IX.3.6-9 were used as a show excavation in the presence of Pope Pius IX, on 22nd October 1849.

According to Della Corte, found on the pilaster on the right, between IX.3.8 and IX.3.9 was the graffito
Multum pistores
rogant [CIL IV 886]
This graffito was written in support of the candidate Giulio Polibio, and Della Corte thought it was a collective recommendation by the two bakeries on either side of the street.
